Five Months

We were lucky to get Claire's five month photos taken last night. The first camera's battery was dead...the second camera was out of memory...two things that Evan repeatedly lectures me about...oops. :) We were both laughing hysterically and Claire must have thought it was funny too.




And apparently I jinxed myself by bragging about what a great sleeper Claire is as that has since changed. Ever since her first cold a few weeks ago, she's been waking up multiple times in the night. Theories are that she misses being swaddled, her teeth hurt, she's hungry, she's cold, or that she's just testing us. I guess only time will tell but currently she sleeps best in the nap nanny although she's just about big and strong enough to fall out of it so I'm not sure what we're going to do then...



Eating, on the other hand, continues to go well (obviously). We've started cereal. The first time she was more interested in eating her bib than her cereal but she's getting better.

Claire has become quite the little traveler. At less than five months of age, she's already stayed in five hotels-the lastest being in western Nebraska. On June 5 my brother married his high school sweetheart and following the reception, Claire even got to share a hotel room with her cousins. While that wasn't the plan, my sister was determined to fit all three car seats in our car so that she and Shane could enjoy a night out...



And while I wasn't sure about having three kids in one hotel room, she assured me that they would fall asleep in the car. Yeah right...



But rewind...the wedding was beautiful! Whitney and I have similar tastes so I loved her dress, the purple bridesmaid dresses, the flowers... They were daring enough to have an outdoor wedding and the weather couldn't have been better. I, of course, left my camera in the car so I don't have any photos of Claire all dressed up-even after Grandma Beimers repeatedly encouraged me to take lots of photos. Oops. But here are a few photos I stole from my sister.




Claire has recently discovered her toes and puts them in her mouth any chance she gets.



And she loves all the attention she gets from her cousins.

4 Months

Claire is now 4 months old and weighs 17 1/2 pounds! I don't know if her size has anything to do with it but she has turned into a fantastic sleeper! We swaddle her and put her in her crib with her pacifier and soon after she is out for 9 to 10 hours! She's been sleeping through the night for about 6 weeks now but has just recently started falling asleep on her own and sleeping in her crib. Claire has also found a new best friend-we found a college student named Jessica to watch her during the day and Claire already loves her which makes going to work SO much easier!



I tried to take some 4 month photos of Claire but she wasn't having it.


Claire has decided that she needs to be upright so we introduced her to the jumperoo. She loves it!


This was her last bath in her little tub. She has now graduated to the regular bathtub which makes mommy a little sad...

Family Photos

Somehow Evan agreed to having a friend take some family photos. So I set it up-and then realized it was also a day when Claire had to get three shots! She wasn't fussy but we couldn't get one smile out of her!!! I still love the photos-thanks Tammy! The last one is my favorite-already giving her daddy attitude.
